I'd say we're investing in the Caiman Ballistic System if Ops-Core doesn't update their padding and liner retention system. Wearing the gas mask with the Peltors and Caimans was more comfortable for me than wearing the Ops-Core with just the Peltors... The neatness of the insert retention system and the comfort of the pads were the best part. helmet. I could wear the helmet system for 8+ hours and not complain. Ops-Core gives me a lot of pain after 6 hours of wear.
My boys brought the headset to test wear with the Batlskin Caiman Ballistic Helmets. They tested the helmet with Peltor CONTAC III and TCI Liberator II headphones. Both headphones fit perfectly under the Cayman helmet without much restriction of movement or getting from the helmet to the top. The Cayman helmet is lighter than the old helmet style we currently use, and the improved design reduces fatigue. With integrated Velcro pads and ARC rails on the helmet, it's easy to attach Velcro counterweight pouches, mount cameras, flashes and NVDs. The Caiman Ballistic helmet is a great choice for rides.
